Tuesday 5/30/2006, one of the nicest guy I
ever met, and close fishing buddy, passed on. I met Larry Swenk back in
1975 when I first opened my tackle shop. We
became instant buddies and fishing partners, probably surf fishing every square
inch of Long Island at one time or an other over the next 30 years. He was
as comfortable on the Salmon River and Cape Hatteras as he was in his Wading
River beach back yard. I can't even guess how many sleepless nights we put in
Duck Pond, Mulford and Montauk Point together. And -17 degree wind chill
never stopped him at the old "Northport Power Plant".
The Store will never be the same again without his affable smile and wit.
He will be sorely missed here and on the beach. Rest in piece Larry
and save some big ones for me.
